China Citic Construction will build hotels in the states of Nueva Esparta, Vargas, Mérida, Bolívar, and in the Orinoco Oil Belt
The Venezuelan Ministry of Tourism informed about the "Comprehensive Tourism Plan for Bolívar state," signed with China's Camc Engineering Co. The project includes construction of the Tourism Monorail for the city of Puerto Ordaz, southern Bolívar states; construction of a Sports City in Ciudad Bolívar, which would include stadiums, sport courts, lodgings for athletes, and services, among others.
In addition, the bilateral agreement also provides for the construction of five-star hotels in Venezuela, plus the refurbishment and construction of docks. The purpose is to turn Venezuela into the main receptor of Chinese tourists, and ensure flexibility in visa issuances.
Moreover, an agreement between Venetur, a body attached to the Venezuelan Ministry of Tourism, and China's Citic Construction was signed to establish all-included tourism packages. Citic will advise Venetur in the construction of the five-star hotels to be built in the city of Porlamar (eastern Nueva Esparta state), central Vargas state, southwestern Mérida state, southern Bolívar state, and the Orinoco Oil Belt, east Venezuela.
