GitHub one of the top development platform and community in the world, recently they are considering to expand in China. The CEO, Erica Brescia, said that they were encouraged by China to expand there.
In 2018, GitHub as acquired by Microsoft by $7.5 billion US Dollar, the company hosts and manages software development, now they are the biggest open-source software platform, which allow anyone can participate.
Brescia said the plan has multiple steps, a wholly foreign-owned company in China will be the first step, to start hiring staff with a general manager. Based on that, they might seek the way to be a joint ventures, also could have the GitHub content for local China market.
